Zero Waste - live in harmony with nature
Our cases comply with EN13432
The raw material of our Bio-Case meets the BS EN 13432 (and EN14995) standard for industrially compostable materials. All compostable products are biodegradable, but not all biodegradable products are compostable.
Certified compostable materials which biodegrade in a composting process through the action of naturally occurring microorganisms and do so to a high extent within a specified timeframe. The associated biological processes during composting will yield CO2 , water, inorganic compounds and biomass.
EN 13432 requires the compostable plastics to disintegrate after 12 weeks and completely biodegrade after six months. That means that 90 percent or more of the plastic material will have been converted to CO2. The remaining share is converted into water and biomass – i.e. valuable compost. Materials and products complying with this standard can be certified and labelled accordingly.
Our cases are free from heavy metals or other harmful substances
Our material complies with EN 13432 which means that it leaves no visible contaminants or toxic residue / substances following the biodegradation process which is in stark contrast to everyday plastics.
Our cases adds ZERO to your waste footprint and impact on climate
If the country you are in has composting bins or composting facilities available, be sure to dispose of your used Redhan Bio-Case appropriately. It is important that you dispose it properly since without the right conditions such as temperature and aeration, the microbes that break it down would not be able to do so.
Alternatively, send us your used Redhan Case and we will compost it or up-cycle it to make new products - you will also be getting store credits by doing so!
